The Nisarga Knowledge Hub: From Soil to Soul.
Transparency is at the heart of our coastal heritage.
At Pronisarga, we believe that when you know exactly where your food comes from, it tastes better. Our ‘Nisarga’ philosophy isn’t just about products; it’s about a chemical-free lifestyle rooted in the lush groves of Udupi. Whether you are curious about our cold-pressing techniques or how to nourish your kitchen garden with ProSoil,
we’ve gathered everything you need to know below:
1. What makes Udupi coconuts special?
The coastal soil and tropical climate of Udupi create coconuts with a naturally higher oil content and a sweeter, richer flavor profile compared to inland varieties.
2. Are your products truly "Chemical-Free"?
es. True to our Nisarga brand philosophy, we do not use sulfur for drying copra, hexane for oil extraction, or bleaching agents for our desiccated powder. What you see is 100% natural.
3. What is the difference between Cold Pressed and Virgin Coconut Oil?
- Cold Pressed Oil: Extracted from dried coconut (copra) at low temperatures. Ideal for cooking and deep frying.
- Virgin Coconut Oil: Extracted from fresh coconut milk. It is lighter, has a higher antioxidant count, and is superior for skin, hair, and raw consumption.
4. Is Coconut Sap Sugar safe for diabetics?
- Coconut Sap Sugar has a lower Glycemic Index (GI) of around 35, compared to 65 for table sugar. While it is a healthier alternative that prevents sharp insulin spikes, we recommend consulting your doctor for specific dietary management.
5. How do I use Cocopith and ProSoil for my garden?
- Cocopith (5kg): Soak the block in water until it expands into a fluffy peat. Mix it with soil to improve aeration.
- ProSoil: This is ready-to-use composted peat. You can use it directly in pots or mix it with garden soil to boost water retention and nutrient levels.
6. Do your oils contain preservatives to increase shelf life?
- No. Because our oils are processed with very low moisture content and high purity, they have a naturally long shelf life without the need for any artificial preservatives.
7. How should I store the Desiccated Coconut Powder?
- Since it has a high fat content (>65%), store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. For maximum freshness in humid climates, refrigeration is recommended after opening.
